How can you help?

What to take from this...

After researching for this project, I learned how much the media really influences our views on Muslim women. Some news sources communicate by addressing negative views of Muslims as an entire whole rather than as the individual who committed the crime. News sources that still report the positive views of Muslim women and how much they are accomplishing are the news sources that people should interact with.

The Hijab is associated with Muslim women, and with the positive influence on media more and more women are being empowered and recognized for wearing their hijab regardless of the hate. Unfortunately the media has also brought up the stereotype of Hijab’s is associated with terrorism. The way people respond to Muslim women are all based on the media, and their assumptions. If we only follow negative media, and assume that all women wearing Hijab are bad, we are not only emotionally scaring these women, but also stereotyping all Muslims to be the same. We shook now by now that there are extreme believers in all religions, and those who are Muslim should not be treated any differently.

I hope that I have shown you how the hijab is positively represented through the media, and why the media has made some be afraid to wear a hijab. I hope that news sources continue to praise Muslim women who are having their "firsts" and enrage them to take pride in their fashion. The Hijab is not something that America is familiar with, and with all the hate going on, I'm glad that we are seeing a revolution towards wearing a hijab.

Support your local muslim community by spreading love and being open to learning about their religion.
